Man Utd 2-0 Portsmouth

Michael Carrick and Wayne Rooney scored the goals as United moved three points clear at the top. It took Manchester United just ten minutes to take control, Anderson picking out Giggs down the left, who in turn picked out Wayne Rooney in the box, beating James with ease. After missing a shitload of chances, Paul Scholes – on his 600th United appearance – threaded a ball through to Michael Carrick who found the bottom corner to kill the game and send the Red Devils back to the top.

Chelsea 0-0 Everton

Bad news blues fans; David Beckham has said that Carlo Ancelotti, the favourite to take over as Chelsea manager next season, is studying English. Did that affect Chelsea’s confidence in this reasonably entertaining goalless fixture?
