Arsenal 2 – 0 Middlesbrough
After his unbelievable midweek antics, Andrei Arshavin found himself at the centre of the action again for Arsenal as the Russian broke down the left before picking out Cesc Fabregas who slid in and scored the opener. Arsenal doubled their lead on 66 minutes, Eboue playing a defence splitting ball through to Cesc Fabregas who, after beating the keeper, rolled home number two. Me thinks Boro are in a world of crap.
Blackburn 2 – 0 Wigan
Big Benni McCarthy broke the deadlock right at the end of the first half and then became supplier on the hour mark, swinging in a fine free-kick from the left and Ryan Nelsen, the Blackburn captain, glanced a header past Kirkland to claim his first ever goal for Rovers, who must be feeling very safe from the drop now.
