Oh dear, Hull are now in deep shit. Ricky Sbragia’s side gained three valuable points as Hull were pushed deeper into the relegation mire, thanks to Djibril Cisse converting Andy Ried’s cross on the stroke of halftime to give the Black Cats all three points.
Stoke 1 – 0 Blackburn
The match was settled 15 minutes from time, Danny Higginbotham whipped over a cross from the left, James Beattie knocked the ball down to Liam Lawrence who cut inside Gael Givet and rifled his shot through a helpless Paul Robinson.
Aston Villa 1 – 1 West Ham
Villa took only ten minutes to break the deadlock when big James Milner’s cross was slotted home by Emile Heskey. Although Villa controlled the match for large periods they weren’t able to bag a second and were made to pay in the final ten minutes when Diego Tristan bagged the equaliser.
