Weekend highlights from Spain, Germany and Italy

AC Milan 5 – 1 Torino

Filippo Inzaghi struck three times for Carlo Ancelotti’s in-form side as they won 5-1.

Hertha Berlin 2 – 1 Werder Bremen

The Berliners haven2t quite given up on the league just yet. Per Mertesacker gave the visitors the lead just before half-time but a late comeback earned Hertha all three points. Josip Simunic levelled the scores after 71 minutes and Raffael’s thundering drive from 18 yards three minutes from time gave Hertha their first win after three consecutive defeats.

Hamburg 2 – 1 Hannover

Hamburg also still fancy their chances after this win. Mladen Petric struck after only a minute when he scroed from a Jerome Boateng cross. Petric grabbed his second from close range seven minutes after the break to take his season’s tally to 12 goals before Hanover’s Mikael Forssell bagged a penalty in the 70th minute.

There’s plenty more, don’t you worry!

Getafe 0 – 1 Barcelona

It was all about bagging the three points for Barça in this ugly match. young Leo Messi finished off a move involving Eto’o and Xavi to give Barcelona the win.

Recreativo Huelva 0 – 1 Real Madrid

It was all about bagging the three points for Madrid in this ugly match. Marcelo ran onto Gago’s through ball in the 49th minute to seal victory for Real and keep alive their hopes of overhauling their rivals.

Juventus 1 – 1 Inter Milan

I fell aslepp watxching this, which I think was a fairly good decision on my part. Midway through the second-half a quick break from Inter saw Mario Balotelli finishing after great play from Ibrahimovic and a nice cross from Muntari. Juve salvaged a draw with a late, late equaliser from Grygera. Please don’t let Mourinho anywhere near English football ever again if this is what we can expect.

Wolfsburg 2 – 1 Bayer Leverkusen

I got to watch this one too and I was far from falling asleep during this match. Leverkusen made all the early running, but Wolfsburg benefited from a well dodgy penalty decision for a foul on Grafite, with the striker converting from the spot. Leverkusen rallied after the break and netted a deserved equaliser. Leverkeusen looked tghe better team for much of the secod half, only for that lad Grafite to side-foot in a 82nd winner that suggested that Wolfsburg may well become champions after riding their luck.
