Darren Bent’s first-half goal has left Newcastle United stuck deep in the relegation mire w,thout any kind of paddle or other escape-type implement. It seems like a long, long time since Tottenham were looking like serious relegation candidates, while hapless Newcastle lost out at White Hart Lane with a goal the typifies there current woes. Little Luk Modric’s low pass to Keane was itercepted by Bassong, the ball rolling into the path of Darren Bent who fired in the winning goal. Alan Shearer is currently delivering 1 point for every 300 grand he earns as Newcastle manager. Nice work if you can get it.
