Get on your bike

Not only is bicycling a highly efficient mode of transportation, most favorable for short to moderate distances compared to motor vehicles, bikes also have numerous benefits including the issue of using renewable energy, generating no air pollution, reducing traffic congestion, minimizing noise pollution, being able to provide exercise, providing easier and less costly parking, offering much lower likelihood of causing a fatality, providing high maneuverability, enabling the ability to travel on both roads and special paths, and the lower user cost as well as societal costs such as negligible damage to roads, and less pavement required.

There are some criticisms and downsides to cycling, commonly including the reduced protection in crashes – including those with motor vehicles – longer travel time, except in densely populated areas, no inherent protection from poor weather, inability to transport passengers, the physical demands of operation, and perspiration in hot weather or on long climbs. Nevertheless, cycling and mountain bikes in particular are making a huge comeback in the early twenty-first century. www.nationalcycles.co.uk is a website at the forefront of this cycling renaissance, having recently won the Buyers Choice Awards London, an award based on customer service and customer loyalty.

Now established markers of industry success, these awards have been developed to recognise the companies that have made a big and lasting impact on customers. Annually there is always a bit of buzz regarding those companies who have stood out from the crowd, so their efforts are recognised through these awards.
