Sheffield Wednesday 4 – 0 Scunthorpe
Richard Wood opened the scoring after six minutes and Jermaine Johnson doubled the hosts’ lead six minutes later. The game was all but over after just 34 minutes when Marcus Tudgay headed home and Darren Potter rounded off the scoring 13 minutes after the break.
Derby 2 – 1 Plymouth
Plymouth stunned Derby by taking the lead in the 17th minute after Jake Buxton was adjudged to have fouled Alan Judge. Judge then composed himself to put the visitors in front from the penalty spot. But Derby fought back to level before the break when Buxton redeemed himself by scoring the equaliser and Addison pounced in the final minute.
West Brom 2 – 0 Ipswich
Congolese midfielder Youssuf Mulumbu fired West Brom into the lead over Roy Keane’s Ipswich after the Tractor Boys had cleared a corner off the line. Robert Koren doubled the Baggies lead finishing a clinical attack in the 28th minute.
QPR 1 – 1 Nottingham Forest
Mikele Leigertwood scored on 26 minutes with a left-footed shot from 30 yards that flew past former QPR goalkeeper Lee Camp and into the corner of the net. Forest equalised 12 minutes into the second half as David McGoldrick sneaked between defenders Borrowdale and Kaspars Gorkss to fire home.
Leeds 3 – 0 Tranmere
Simon Grayson’s men took charge in the first half with Bradley Johnson and Jermaine Beckford finding the net. The win for Leeds, which sealed a club record equalling thirteen-in-a-row, was sealed late on through Luciano Becchio.
Brighton 2 – 4 Stockport
Carl Baker hit a hat-trick as Stockport won their first match this season in a game which saw Brighton defenders Tommy Elphick and Colin Hawkins sent off.
