After Beşiktaş slipped up on Friday night, the other big boys didn’t miss the opportunity to get ahead in the league on the opening weekend.

Gaziantepspor 2 – 3 Galatasaray

Cimbom took an early lead with goals from young Arda Turan and Mustafa Sarp. Julio Cesar pulled one back in the 37th minute, but Shabani Nonda restored Galatasaray’s lead in the 85th. Rodrigo Tabata’s goal from the penalty spot in the 90th minute was mere consolation.

Denizlispor 0 – 2 Fenerbahçe

Daniel ‘Diamond’ Guiza netted twice in Fener’s triumph at Denizlispor.

Sivasspor 1 – 2 Trabzonspor

A big opening match for two of the best teams from last season saw the Black Sea outfit claim the honours. Selçuk Inan (10) and Ceyhun Gülselam (78) bagged the goals for Trabzonspor with Yannick Kamanan replying for the hosts.

Diyarbakırspor 2 – 2 Ankaragücü

Ceyhun Eriş grabbed a double as Ankaragücü drew with Diyarbakirspor, who got on the scoresheet through big Adnan Güngör and Andres Mendoza.

Bursaspor 2 – 1 Kasımpaşa

Erhan Küçük gave the away team the lead five minutes into the second half, but Tomas Zapotocny and Sercan Yıldırım both netted to turn the game on its head.
