Chelsea have vowed to fight Fifa’s incredible decision to ban the club from signing any new players until 2011 after they were found guilty of illegally inducing the French youth international Gaël Kakuta to sign in 2007 from Racing Club de Lens. The ruling from Fifa’s ‘Dispute Resolution Chamber’ have also banned the 18-year-old attacking midfielder Kakuta, considered the cream of the club’s academy talent, for four months and fined the lad €780,000.
To be fair the lad looks a bit handy and it might even prove worth it if Chelsea’s aging squad can hobble along until 2011.
