Champions League lowlights, November 3rd and 4th

November 3rd

Jammy Manc buggers. Oh well, at least it livened up the evening. I spent it watching Beşiktaş meekly raising the white flag against the VW boys, while flicking over to the surprisingly entertaining Madrid – Milan match.

Manchester United 3 – 3 CSKA Moscow

Sir Alex has reacted angrily to Darren Fletcher’s booking for diving against CSKA Moscow, which is a bit of a surprise and not what we expect of him at all.

Atletico Madrid 2 – 2 Chelsea

This humdinger finished Sergio Agüero 2-2 Didier Drogba as Chelsea booked a last-16 berth.

Beşiktaş 0 – 3 Wolfsburg

Bloody crap.

Bayern Munich 0 – 2 Bordeaux

Bayern look boggered while the French champions booked a place in the Champions League knockout round.

AC Milan 1 – 1 Real Madrid

Ronaldinho’s penalty cancelled out Benzema’s opener as the spoils were shared.

November 4th

Arsenal 4 – 1 AZ

Cesc Fábregas bagged a brace as Arsenal all-but-booked a spot in the knockout stages.

Lyon 1 – 1 Liverpool

Benítez has admitted his team needs a ‘miracle’ to reach the knockout stages. Well duh.

Rubin Kazan 0 – 0 Barcelona

I watched this and it was even crappier than the scoreline suggests. Barça were lucky to get away with a point, truth be known.
