Portsmouth now face administration after their lawyers failed in their attempt to have this morning’s high court winding-up proceedings delayed. It didn’t get much better on the pitch, either, although Aruna Dindane did manage to conjure up a late lifeline for Pompey.

Wigan held on for point as Tuncay Şanlı grabbed a share of the spoils for Stoke with his second half equaliser.
