Would you let Rafa Benitez sign a player for your club?

Having now watched the newest recruit to the Liverpool shambles, Maxi Rodriguez, I’m now convinced that Monsignor Rafa signs players without even watching them.

£20m for Aquilani, who is, let’s face it, a poor man’s Jamie Rednkapp, never mind a replacement for Alonso. Lucas Leiva, oh my God, it must be like going back to having Oyvind Leonhardsen at the heart of the midfield. While we’re at it, let’s not forget the following disasters:

Voronin, Dossena, Pennant, Zenden, Aurelio, Plessis, Degan, Nunez, Josemi, Kromkamp, Leto, Palletta, Mark Gonzalez, etc.

I wouldn’t trust Rafa to clean the toilet at my club, let alone handle the transfer kitty.

Good news for Euro giants Unirea Urziceni, Yossi Benayoun will start toinight, with Fernando Torres on the bench.

  1. Benitez’s last hope of trophy is on Europa League. Although Liverpool are leading by 1-0 but the risk is there travel to Romania because the gap is small.

To secure his head from being axed, Rafa must make sure the Red to qualify. Torres’s return should leads Liverpool to seal a victory.

Thanks FT UK, I will definitely watch tonight with a sense of morbid curiosity… like I do every Liverpool match in fact.
